Cavs Swept by Knicks: Cleveland's Playoff Flaws Exposed

New York dominated the paint and exploited Cleveland's defensive weaknesses, grabbing offensive rebounds at will and forcing the Cavs into low-percentage shots. The Knicks' veteran leadership and playoff experience overwhelmed a young Cavs team that struggled to adjust. Statistically, Cleveland ranked near the bottom in playoff offensive rating, a damning indictment of their half-court execution.

Donovan Mitchell carried the scoring load but received insufficient support from his teammates, exposing the Cavs' lack of secondary playmakers. Darius Garland and Evan Mobley, both first-time playoff participants, appeared overmatched against New York's relentless pressure. The series underscores the Cavs' urgent need to add physicality and veteran savvy to their roster.

This sweep mirrors Cleveland's 2022 play-in exit, raising questions about the team's ceiling under current leadership. General Manager Koby Altman now faces a critical offseason: retool around Mitchell or risk stagnation. The Cavs' cap flexibility and trade assets provide options, but time is not on their side.

Power Move: Cleveland's sweep isn't a fluke—it's a blueprint for opponents. Without major roster upgrades, the Cavs risk becoming a regular-season mirage. Expect aggressive offseason moves to inject toughness and experience.
