Polda Metro Jaya has officially begun operating a one-stop electronic traffic enforcement (ETLE) service at Samsat, allowing vehicle owners to settle all administrative obligations arising from traffic violations without moving between locations. The move was announced directly by the Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) of Korlantas Polri, Brig. Gen. I Made Agus Prasastya, during an inspection of the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) and Samsat Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday (23/9).
Previously, vehicle owners recorded by ETLE had to confirm the violation, pay the fine, and then handle the unblocking at separate locations. Now, all three processes can be completed at a single Samsat service desk. "People captured by ETLE, who confirm and pay, and then get blocked, can be served at Samsat," Made Agus said in an official statement.
According to him, the integration is part of efforts to reform police bureaucracy in the traffic sector. He said the long queues and public complaints so far had stemmed from fragmented services. "Alhamdulillah, at Samsat Polda Metro Jaya we now provide ETLE unblocking services, so motor vehicle administration processes can run properly," he added.
Made Agus also urged the public to use the Digital Korlantas app before visiting Samsat. By entering the reference number and vehicle plate number, users can find out whether their vehicle has been flagged by ETLE. "Before going to Samsat, please download the Digital Korlantas app to confirm ETLE," he said. The step is expected to reduce unnecessary visits and speed up processing at the counter.
In addition, he stressed the importance of settling fines through official payment channels after confirmation. "If you are flagged by ETLE, please settle it through the payment channels that have been prepared. After that, go to Samsat for the next vehicle process," he said. He hoped the public would be more disciplined and not delay payments that could lead to a block.
During the inspection, Made Agus also highlighted the effectiveness of ETLE in cracking down on TNKB falsification. He praised Polda Metro Jaya's performance, which he considered good in handling such cases. "We also reviewed the effectiveness of ETLE, especially amid the rise in TNKB falsification. Polda Metro Jaya has done very well in enforcement," he said. TNKB falsification is a concern because it can potentially be used to evade fines and commit other crimes.
For Indonesians, particularly in Polda Metro Jaya's jurisdiction, the service cuts travel time and costs. However, the challenge ahead is ensuring even outreach and data integration between agencies. If successful, the model could be replicated in other regions. The question is whether this one-stop service will be followed by a significant drop in traffic violations, or merely shift the queue to the Samsat counter.
