Bhayangkara FC and Lampung Residents: As Stadion Sumpah Pemuda Starts to Stir

Bhayangkara FC recorded a rise in attendance at their first two home matches of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League at Stadion Sumpah Pemuda, Bandar Lampung. Internal club data obtained by LyndHub states that the match against Persebaya Surabaya drew around 3,000 people, then jumped to around 4,000 spectators when they hosted Isenmulang FC. The figure is significant because the stadium's capacity is only around 7,000 seats.
The surge is not merely a statistic. Since moving their base to Bandar Lampung in April 2025, Bhayangkara FC have sought to build a bond with the people of Lampung Province. Last season, The Guardians finished fifth. Now the target has been raised: breaking into the top three. That ambition is no small task, as they must compete with Borneo FC, Persebaya, Persija Jakarta, and Persib Bandung, who have dominated the title over the past three seasons.
In terms of performance, Oscar Bruzon's side remain unbeaten in three matches. Two draws and one win have taken them to eighth place, five points behind Dewa United at the top of the table. That record is important capital before the international break for FIFA Matchday from 21 September to 6 October.
"Now is the time for a short rest. We are giving five to six days off after working almost every day for six weeks," said Oscar Bruzon. "After that, we have more than two weeks to prepare for the away matches against Arema FC and Madura United, which will certainly be tough opponents."
The rise in attendance also affects the local economy. From street vendors and transport service providers to accommodation around the stadium, all feel the multiplier effect of matchday. If this trend continues, local revenue from the sports tourism sector could grow, especially if the management consistently holds home matches at family-friendly hours.
For Bhayangkara FC, supporter backing is not just about ticket revenue. The presence of spectators in the stadium boosts the players' confidence, especially when facing big teams. The management also hopes attendance will continue to rise at the next home match against Persijap Jepara on 16 October. The question is, can The Guardians turn the euphoria in the stands into full points, while proving that Lampung has truly become their new home?
