- Tinashe juga sedang mempersiapkan album studio kedelapannya yang bertajuk 'Popstar', yang ia gambarkan sebagai cerminan dirinya yang sebenarnya.

American singer Tinashe has made it clear that she will no longer be in a romantic relationship with a man who has financial difficulties. She made the statement in an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, as quoted by Bang Premier.
The 33-year-old said she had several times had to withdraw cash from an ATM for a man she was dating. "Girl, I'm not going to lie. There were a few times I took money out of the ATM. I was like, 'This is for you,'" she said. She added that the experience annoyed her and made her determined never to repeat it. "I was also annoyed. And I was like, 'I will never do this again.' That's why I wrote a song about it. Don't do it again," she said.
Tinashe's statement is not just a personal confession, but also a reflection of her winding career journey. She admitted she had lost confidence as a creator because of a lack of support from the music industry. "I didn't feel supported in my art, and that's when I really felt like I started to lose confidence as a creative, because I felt like I had to compromise to work within this business model," she said in another interview with Face to Face with Becky G.
She described the seven years after signing her first record deal as a "rollercoaster" of success interspersed with periods of stagnation. "Periods where I wanted to release a project but maybe my label didn't agree and we had big creative differences," she recalled. Tinashe then began to realize that she had to be independent in her work. "When you work with a company and there are so many people you have to please, you start making little compromises here and there," she added.
Currently, Tinashe is preparing to release her eighth studio album, titled Popstar. She feels the album reflects who she really is. "I want to put out work that represents all the things that make me, me. I don't subscribe to one particular sound, one particular genre. I made records on this project that feel like dance songs, hip-hop songs, pop songs, RnB songs. And I think all of it, for me, falls under the popstar umbrella," she explained.

For fans in Indonesia, Tinashe's story may feel relevant, especially for those who follow the journeys of international musicians. The competitive global music industry often demands that artists compromise their creative vision to meet market demands. This also happens in Indonesia, where musicians often have to balance personal expression and commercial pressure. Tinashe's statements about independence and the importance of support in creating work can serve as a reflection for the country's growing music industry.
Going forward, the album Popstar will be a test for Tinashe to prove that she can succeed without sacrificing her identity. Will the album be well received by the market and critics? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: Tinashe has learned from her past and is ready to move forward with more confidence.
