Gymnast and seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was the victim of a luxury car theft at her Chicago home. Three masked perpetrators reportedly entered the house and made off with her Porsche. The incident not only shocked the public but also triggered significant changes in the personal life of Biles and her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens.
In a TikTok video, Biles revealed that the incident occurred several months ago. "I felt like I needed a new car because over the past few months in Chicago, three masked men came to our house and stole my Porsche," she said. Although the car was eventually recovered, Biles admitted she was still traumatized and decided to adopt a Doberman as a guard dog. "That's one of the reasons we also got a Doberman," she added.
The case highlights the vulnerability of public figures to property crime, even in environments considered safe. For Biles, this bitter experience became a trigger to improve her personal security system. She even joked that her personal life was so full of drama that it deserved a reality show. "I feel like I need a reality TV show. The things that happen to me are so crazy. So it would be very easy for a producer to film regularly," she said.
After the incident, Biles went car shopping for a replacement. She admitted she was initially interested in an Audi RSQ8 because it had the same engine as a Porsche but at half the price. However, after a test drive, she felt the car was too "muscular" and uncomfortable to drive. In the end, she returned to Porsche and fell in love with the Cayenne GTS. "When they turned it on, I was immediately hooked. I felt like Tiffany Haddish in Girls Trip: 'Give it to me! I want it!'," she said enthusiastically.
"I'm not the type to usually share things like this because I value privacy, but almost dying was not something I planned this week. This is one of the scariest experiences of my life."

This theft incident is not the only problem Biles has faced. A few months earlier, she was hospitalized due to a mysterious health issue that has not been disclosed in detail. On June 6, she posted a photo of her arm covered in hospital bracelets and called it the "scariest" experience of her life. She also underwent an unexplained medical procedure on her husband's birthday.
For fans in Indonesia, Biles's story is a reminder that personal security remains a priority, especially for those with a high public profile. In Indonesia itself, motorcycle and vehicle theft cases remain a concern, with data from Mabes Polri showing thousands of cases per year. The public is urged to increase vigilance, such as installing double security systems and not parking vehicles in isolated places.
Going forward, Biles is expected to recover from the trauma and refocus on preparations for her next competition. However, she also emphasized the importance of feeling safe at home. By having a Doberman, she hopes to reduce the risk of similar crimes. Is this step enough, or will she consider more sophisticated security systems? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear: Biles does not want to take any more risks.
