- Everton disebut tengah menjajaki kemungkinan merekrut Marcus Rashford dari Manchester United pada bursa Januari.
- Mantan CEO klub, Keith Wyness, mengklaim diskusi serius telah terjadi dan melihat potensi kesepakatan.
- Kebutuhan striker menjadi prioritas The Toffees setelah Thierno Barry menjadi satu-satunya opsi di lini depan.

Everton are reportedly considering an ambitious move to bring Marcus Rashford in from Manchester United in the upcoming January transfer window. The speculation emerged after the club's former CEO, Keith Wyness, revealed that internal discussions about a potential deal have been intense.
The need for a new striker is urgent for manager David Moyes. At present, Thierno Barry is the only available centre-forward after the attempt to sign Folarin Balogun last summer fell through. The shortage of options up front leaves Everton exposed, and the January window is a chance to improve squad depth.
Rashford, whose contract at Old Trafford still has time to run, is said to be an attractive target. Wyness, speaking on Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, said Everton's interest in the England international is not idle talk. "Yes, this is genuinely being discussed and it's fairly strong. I think it could be an attractive solution," he said.
Wyness added that Rashford's experience on loan at Aston Villa and Barcelona shows he can be effective in a new environment. "Rashford played well on loan at Villa and also at Barcelona. I think it could work, and being close to Manchester, just along the M63, could also benefit him," he explained. He also highlighted Jack Grealish's successful adaptation at Everton as an example that big players can shine at Goodison Park.
"I'm hearing there's a lot of smoke here; this is definitely being discussed. I wouldn't be surprised to see something happen in January," Wyness said.
Even so, signing Rashford is not without challenges. Manchester United will certainly not let their star player go easily, especially to another Premier League club. In addition, Rashford himself is said to prefer staying in Manchester or moving abroad. Everton must be able to convince both the club and the player that this move is the best for Rashford's career.
Besides looking for a striker, Everton have also been linked with Lecce centre-back Tiago Gabriel. Nevertheless, the need for a forward remains the top priority. The club are also trying to keep Jarrad Branthwaite, who is still wanted by Chelsea. Squad balance is key, and Moyes needs to ensure that new arrivals do not create problems in other positions.
For Everton, the January window could be a turning point this season. If they succeed in bringing in Rashford, the team's attacking threat is predicted to rise significantly. However, if they fail, they must have an alternative plan. Competition to secure the signature of players like Oskarsson is also tightening, with several other Premier League clubs showing interest.
The final decision rests with the management and Moyes. Can Everton pull off this big transfer, or will they have to turn to other options? Time will tell, but one thing is certain: the need for a new striker is non-negotiable.
