- Ipda Yayat Sudrajat mengajukan pensiun dini enam bulan lalu dengan alasan gangguan kesehatan akibat berat badan berlebih.
- KPK menduga Yayat memiliki belasan aset tanah dan bangunan mewah di Jabodetabek, Sukabumi, hingga Karawang.
- Polda Metro Jaya menyerahkan penelaahan pengunduran diri Yayat ke Biro SDM dan Bid Propam, sementara proses hukum KPK tetap berjalan.

A member of the Indonesian National Police with the rank of Second Police Inspector (Ipda) Yayat Sudrajat submitted his resignation from the force six months ago. The reason given was not legal pressure, but a health condition: excess weight that requires him to undergo outpatient care and leaves him unable to carry out his duties.
The news emerged alongside an investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) into an alleged bribery case involving the Bekasi Regent for the 2025โ2030 period, Ade Kuswara Kunang. Yayat's name was mentioned in the case after investigators searched two luxury homes belonging to him in Depok, West Java, and Cibubur, East Jakarta.
Cimanggis Police Chief Kompol Jupriono confirmed that Yayat had been examined by the Propam Division of the Metro Jaya Police about one to two months before the KPK search. According to him, the results of the bureaucratic examination concluded that Yayat could not perform his duties due to a health condition related to obesity. "He cannot carry out his duties and has submitted his resignation since six months ago," Jupriono said on Wednesday (23/9).
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said investigators are still tracing other assets belonging to Yayat. The suspected ownership of more than a dozen luxury properties is the focus of the investigation, especially because the value of the assets is disproportionate to the income of a first officer. Under PP No. 7 of 2024, an Ipda's basic salary ranges from Rp2.9 million to Rp4.7 million per month, plus a performance allowance for job class 8 of Rp3.3 million. That total fixed income is suspected to be insufficient to finance property ownership in various strategic locations.
The KPK has requested information from Yayat after the search. However, to date there has been no official statement from him. Meanwhile, Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Head Kombes Budi Hermanto stressed that his side respects the legal process currently under way at the KPK. Regarding Yayat's resignation, Budi said it would be reviewed further by the Human Resources (SDM) Bureau of the Metro Jaya Police. "Even if there is a submission from Ipda Yayat regarding an early retirement request, it will certainly go through the existing procedure, a review by the SDM side," he said.
"We give room to SDM, to Bid Propam to conduct a deeper review, but at the same time, we first respect the process being carried out by the KPK so that it can proceed." โ Kombes Budi Hermanto, Public Relations Head of the Metro Jaya Police
Budi also added that Bid Propam will look deeper into alleged code of ethics violations or criminal acts that Yayat may have committed. If proven, internal police sanctions will be applied. He asked the public to wait for the results of that review.
This case highlights two things at once: first, the resignation mechanism for police members who claim to be ill, and second, the integrity of personnel amid a corruption investigation. An early retirement request on health grounds is indeed regulated in staffing procedures, but the process must still go through medical verification and a performance assessment. The public has the right to know whether health reasons are purely the basis, or whether other factors are driving the accelerated resignation.
From the perspective of corruption eradication, the tracing of Yayat's assets is a test for the KPK to prove that law enforcement is not halted by a person's employment status. If a mismatch between income and wealth is indeed found, then the legal process must proceed without discrimination. Conversely, if it is not proven, Yayat is entitled to restoration of his good name.
Going forward, two tracks will run in parallel: the internal review by the Metro Jaya Police and the KPK investigation. The public awaits transparency from both. Will this resignation halt the investigation, or will it instead become an entry point for uncovering a larger flow of funds?
