- Penyanyi Inggris Michael Kiwanuka mengungkapkan mengalami stroke akibat pendarahan otak beberapa bulan lalu.

British singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka has revealed that he suffered a stroke several months ago. He shared the news on social media while announcing his new album, titled Fudge. The stroke was caused by bleeding in the brain due to high blood pressure.
In his statement, the 39-year-old said the stroke was quite severe. "I had a stroke caused by bleeding in the brain triggered by high blood pressure," he wrote on Instagram. He also said he had to undergo lengthy rehabilitation and cannot yet be sure when he will return to the stage.
Kiwanuka acknowledged that the past few months have been difficult. However, he feels he is now on the road to recovery. "It's a long and hard journey, but I'm fighting to get better," he said. He also thanked NHS staff and medical workers who treated him, as well as his family and team for their continued support.
Previously, last year, Kiwanuka was forced to cancel a number of festival appearances, including We Out Here and Victorious in the UK, All Together Now in Ireland, Sziget Festival in Hungary, and Pukkelpop in Belgium. At the time, the reason given was "prolonged illness".
"I'm not sure when I can get back on the road or what that will look like, the brain injury I suffered is severe enough that there is still a lot of rehabilitation to go through," Kiwanuka said.
Nevertheless, he remains enthusiastic about his new album. "I'm very excited to announce my new album, Fudge. I'm very happy because for the past few months I've been struggling with health problems that kept me from making music," he added.
The news has drawn public attention, especially from fans of soul and R&B music. Kiwanuka is known as a musician who blends elements of folk, soul, and rock. His previous albums, such as Home Again (2012) and Kiwanuka (2019), received critical acclaim and won various awards, including the Mercury Prize.
In Indonesia, the mental and physical health of musicians is also an issue that is receiving increasing attention. Kiwanuka's case is a reminder that the pressures of the music industry can have serious effects on health. Support from management, fans, and the health system is crucial so that artists can keep working without sacrificing their well-being.
Going forward, the public awaits further details about the album Fudge and a possible concert tour. However, the most important thing right now is Kiwanuka's recovery. May he recover soon and return to entertain fans around the world.
