The fire that struck the Kosambi Permai Warehouse area, Kosambi District, Tangerang Regency, on Wednesday afternoon did not affect flight activity at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Airport management confirmed that all aircraft departure and arrival schedules were running as planned.
The Head of Communication and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Yudistiawan, stated that based on monitoring by the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC), the incident did not disrupt flight operations at all. "Management continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure conditions around the airport remain safe," he said in an official statement on Wednesday (25/2).
Nevertheless, flight safety and security remain the top priority. Yudistiawan added that the situation at the fire site had been handled intensively by the authorities. He also urged all airport service users to remain calm and monitor official information from Soetta Airport management.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport is one of the busiest aviation hubs in Indonesia, with average passenger movements reaching tens of millions of people per year. Operational disruptions at this airport can have wide-ranging effects on national and international connectivity. However, the fire in the warehouse area, located several kilometers from the airport area, did not disrupt flight activity.
In recent years, Soetta Airport has several times faced emergency situations nearby, such as land fires or extreme weather disruptions. Airport management has always emphasized the importance of coordination with relevant authorities, including airport authorities, the police, and the fire department, to ensure flight safety.
"Passengers are advised to continue monitoring the latest information through the official communication channels of the airport or the relevant airline," said Yudistiawan.
For travelers and investors, this incident serves as a reminder that airport operational stability is crucial for the economy. Soekarno-Hatta Airport contributes significantly to the national tourism and logistics sectors. Even the smallest disruption can trigger supply chain delays and economic losses. Therefore, a fast and transparent response from airport management is key to maintaining public trust.
Going forward, the challenge for airport operators is to improve early detection and risk mitigation systems around the airport area. Collaboration with local governments and other stakeholders needs to be strengthened so that similar incidents do not have further impact. In addition, educating passengers about emergency procedures and official information channels must continue.
With operations remaining normal, passengers can continue their journeys without obstacles. However, vigilance is still needed given the dynamic situation on the ground. Soetta Airport management is committed to providing regular information updates through their official channels.
