Isenmulang FC will face their toughest test of the season so far when they travel to Stadion Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) to take on Persib Bandung in the continuation of the BRI Super League 2026/2027 on Sunday (1/11/2026). The match is in the spotlight because it pits a promoted side on the rise against the three-time defending champions, who are trying to hold their place at the top of the table.
The team nicknamed Laskar Tambun Bungai arrive on a three-match unbeaten run: one win and two draws. That positive trend contrasts with their position in the provisional standings, where they sit 16th with three points from six matches (one win, two draws, three defeats). Persib, meanwhile, are fourth with 13 points from four wins, one draw and two defeats.
Although far behind in the standings, Isenmulang FC are not coming as sacrificial lambs. Coach Mundari Karya used the competition break to fix his squad, especially after a goalless draw against PSIM Yogyakarta at Stadion Kapten I Wayan Dipta, Gianyar, on Saturday (24/10/2026). That result gave them a morale boost, showing that a promoted side can withstand the pressure of an established team.
Isenmulang FC centre-back Rafael Ribeiro acknowledged that the match against Persib will be one of the hardest for his team. However, the 30-year-old Brazilian stressed that his side are not afraid to play in front of thousands of home supporters. "We have to recover and start focusing. The next match will be very difficult for us," he said, as quoted from an interview after the match against PSIM.
Ribeiro sees Persib's attacking line as the main threat. Nevertheless, he stressed that Isenmulang FC have good defensive focus and can play the match according to plan. "The opponent we will face has a very strong attacking line. But we are very focused in defence and can play the match well," added the former SC Delhi player.
"There is not much to talk about. We just need to keep working hard. We have a fairly long week to focus and prepare well so we can perform better." โ Rafael Ribeiro, Isenmulang FC defender
For Isenmulang FC, the match at GBLA is not merely a chance to prove the quality of a promoted team. A positive result would be a valuable morale boost to climb out of the lower zone of the standings. Conversely, a defeat could extend their poor record and increase the pressure on coach Mundari Karya. On the other side, Persib, competing at the top, do not want to drop points at home, especially against a team that on paper is still below them in quality.
It will be interesting to see how Mundari Karya assembles his starting XI after evaluating the previous match. Over the past week, the coaching staff are said to have kept sharpening the defensive organisation and quick transitions. If Isenmulang FC can score first, the pressure will instead shift to the home side, who are expected to win in front of the Bobotoh.
The big question: can Isenmulang FC take points home from GBLA, or will Persib assert their dominance over the promoted side? The answer will be clear on Sunday night, and the result could be an indicator of how ready the promoted team is to compete in the top flight.
