- Adrian Wibowo menjalani debut bersama FC Wacker Innsbruck setelah menunggu lebih dari tiga bulan sejak masa peminjaman dimulai.
- Penampilan 20 menit melawan Rapid Wina II tidak hanya berbuah kemenangan, tetapi juga memperkuat posisi Wacker di papan atas kasta kedua Liga Austria.
- Jika konsisten mendapat menit bermain, peluangnya kembali ke Timnas Indonesia di bawah asuhan John Herdman terbuka lebar.

Adrian Wibowo finally made his first appearance for FC Wacker Innsbruck on the eighth matchday of the Austrian Football Second League, Saturday (10/10/2026) evening WIB. Coming on as a substitute for Rami Tekir in the 70th minute, the 20-year-old helped his team beat Rapid Wina II 2-1 at the Allianz-Stadion. The debut is an important marker for Adrian's career in Europe after a lengthy wait.
Since officially joining on loan from Los Angeles FC (LAFC) on 1 July 2026, Adrian has had to be patient. Across Wacker Innsbruck's first seven matches, his name never made the squad list. Only in the game against Rapid Wina II did the coach give him his trust. Although he played only about 20 minutes, his contribution helped the team secure all three points.
The match was tight. Wacker Innsbruck had taken the lead, but the hosts equalized through a David Berger penalty in the 82nd minute. The visitors only sealed the win late on through a Mouhamed Sy goal. Adrian thus closed his debut with a positive result, a valuable foundation for a young player seeking his place in European football.
The win lifted Wacker Innsbruck to fourth in the provisional standings. The next challenge is already waiting: a derby against Austria Salzburg on Saturday (17/10/2026). Adrian is aware of the match's importance. Through the club's official Instagram account, he said he was happy to make his debut and considered the three points a valuable foundation. "I am very happy to make my debut for this team. It is even better because we could get the important three points. Next we have to be more ready for the derby, so we have to be more enthusiastic and we are ready for it," he said.
For Indonesian football, Adrian's emergence in a European competition is a breath of fresh air. He has Indonesian blood from his father, who is from Surabaya, while his mother is American. His debut for the Indonesia national team came on 8 September 2025 in a friendly against Lebanon at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya. He came on to replace Stefano Lilipaly and played 30 minutes. To date, that appearance remains his only senior cap.
Indonesia national team coach John Herdman is certainly monitoring the development of heritage players. Regular playing time in Austria could be a stepping stone for Adrian to return to the Garuda squad. If he can maintain his form and add more minutes, it is not impossible that his name returns to Herdman's plans for upcoming international fixtures.
The derby against Austria Salzburg will be the next test. Can Adrian show his quality and help Wacker Innsbruck get a positive result? The Indonesian public certainly hopes he keeps developing and becomes an additional option for the national team's attack in the future.
