Elias Dolah is not closing the door on a return to the BRI Super League. The 33-year-old center-back says he still holds fond memories from his two seasons with Bali United in 2023/2024 and 2024/2025.
In an exclusive interview with Bola.com, Dolah said he knows Indonesian football well and has many connections in the country. "I would not say no, because I already know the Indonesian league very well, and I know many people there," he said. The statement signals that the door remains wide open for the player of Swedish descent to return to the domestic competition.
Even so, Dolah currently feels at home in Thailand. He plays for BG Pathum United on loan from Buriram United and has become a key pillar in defense. "I have some matters in Thailand, I will stay in Thailand for now," he explained. That comfort is not only about football, but also other activities that make him feel settled in the Land of Smiles.
Dolah also recalled the clashes between the Thailand national team and the Indonesia national team, which were often fierce and marked by many cards. That experience gave him a deep understanding of the character of Indonesian football, both at club and national team level.
"But we never know what happens in football. Sometimes a career depends on the club, because they are the ones offering the contract and whether we are part of their project or not," Dolah concluded.
The statement underscores that Dolah's decision to return to Indonesia is not solely about money, but also about the project vision offered by the club. BRI Super League clubs that want to sign him need to present a convincing long-term plan, not just a short-term contract.
For Indonesian football, the chance to bring in Dolah could be an added value. His experience in the Thai league and his performances with the Thailand national team are proof of his quality. His presence could strengthen the defense of a team in need of an experienced figure, while also boosting the competition's appeal in the eyes of fans.
However, his age is a consideration in itself. Clubs are usually more selective when signing players over 30, especially for the center-back position, which demands mobility and physical consistency. Dolah is aware of that and chooses to enjoy the rest of his career carefully.
Looking ahead, will any Indonesian club be able to convince Dolah to return? Or will he close out his career in Thailand and never play in the BRI Super League again? Indonesian football fans await the answer.
