EA Sports officially rolled out Title Update 1.0.1 for EA Sports FC 27 on Tuesday (22/9/2026), three days before the game's global launch on 25 September. The relatively small patch targets bug fixes and feedback from the Closed Beta, without significantly changing game balance.
EA took this step to ensure players' day-one experience is not disrupted by technical issues that surfaced during Early Access. In the official patch notes, EA stressed that the update is not intended to change gameplay tuning, but merely to clear up remaining issues before millions of players enter the servers.
The most notable change is in Authentic Gameplay mode. EA raised the default values of the Jockey and Sprint Jockey Speed sliders, but this adjustment only applies to Career Mode and Kick Off, and does not touch Competitive Gameplay. This means players chasing ranks in competitive mode will not feel a significant difference in defensive mechanics.
In addition, EA fixed a fairly disruptive issue: users of custom controller presets sometimes could not perform inputs as intended. This complaint appeared frequently during the Early Access period, especially among players who rely on non-standard button configurations. The fix is expected to restore full control to them.
In The Grounds mode, EA increased the impact of fatigue on player stamina in 11v11 matches. This change could alter the dynamics of long matches, where player rotation and energy management become more crucial. In addition, players with the appropriate skill level can now perform 5 Star Skill Moves in Street Football, something that was previously locked due to a bug.
The Hot Join issue that had prevented players from joining matches has also been resolved. EA also fixed unexpected high ping that frequently occurred in League Matches. These two fixes address the main complaints of The Grounds community, which had reported an unstable online experience.
"We will be releasing a small update to address the bugs you reported and feedback from the Closed Beta. This is not an update that significantly changes gameplay balance and tuning. We want to keep maintaining Early Access..." โ EA Sports FC Direct Communication, 22 September 2026.
For Ultimate Team, EA included only one fix: a UI that was sometimes unresponsive when selecting a Player Item that did not meet the requirements of the Filter Evolutions By Player. Though it may seem trivial, this issue could hinder players in planning their player evolution strategy.
Stability was also a concern. EA fixed a visual issue in the PS5 main menu and a bug related to DLC commentary language on Nintendo Switch. Both fixes show EA wants to ensure the console versions remain smooth ahead of launch.
EA stated it is still investigating a number of other bugs reported by the community for a future update. It is committed to continuing to refine the playing experience post-release.
For the Indonesian market, this move by EA is worth noting. The FC community in the country is quite large, especially on PlayStation and PC. The fixes for custom controller input and high ping in League Matches will be highly relevant for players who often complain about unstable connections. However, the Jockey slider adjustment that only applies in Authentic mode may be less satisfying for some players who expected changes in Competitive.
Looking ahead, the question is how quickly EA responds to new issues that may arise after the global launch. With the release date only days away, is this patch enough to dampen criticism, or will it instead fuel higher expectations for the next update?
