Isenmulang FC surprised hosts Persita Tangerang with a narrow 1-0 win in the continuation of the BRI Super League 2026/2027 at Banten International Stadium, Serang, on Saturday (7/11/2026). Adilson Silva's lone goal in the 68th minute made the difference in a fiercely contested match.
The win was a revival moment for the Central Kalimantan side after they were crushed 0-4 by Persib Bandung the previous week. The three points lifted Isenmulang to 15th in the provisional standings with six points from nine matches, the result of two wins, two draws, and five defeats. For Persita, it was their first loss of the season after an impressive run of four wins and three draws.
Isenmulang FC coach Mundari Karya said he was deeply grateful for a result he called beyond expectation. According to him, Persita playing in front of their own supporters and still unbeaten made his team's chances of winning very slim. Yet the players' fighting spirit produced a sweet outcome.
"Honestly, this result is beyond my expectation because Persita's performance was extraordinary. I am very grateful and thank the players who fought and held on for the full 90 minutes," said Mundari Karya.
The former Indonesia national team player from the 1980s revealed that his team spent two days of preparation analyzing Persita's playing patterns, both in defense and attack. The main focus was anticipating the counterattack that is the opponent's main weapon. "We noted that many of Persita's goals come from counterattack schemes. That is what we anticipated with discipline," he added.
Although statistically Persita dominated possession and chances, especially in the first half, Isenmulang's back line stood solid. Mundari Karya said his team was at times pinned back and under constant attack, but their goal stayed safe until the final whistle.
The win meant not only three points but also a morale boost for Isenmulang FC, who are fighting to avoid relegation. With nine matches remaining, their position is still fragile and they need consistency to move away from the threat of dropping a division.
For Persita, the defeat is a warning that no team is safe in a competition as tight as the BRI Super League. Persita's coach is expected to evaluate quickly, especially in finishing and in anticipating teams that play defensively.
Going forward, Isenmulang FC face a tough schedule against top-tier teams. Can they sustain the momentum and step out of relegation's shadow? Meanwhile, Persita need to bounce back quickly to stay in contention at the top.
