Persija Jakarta returned to the top of the BRI Super League 2026/2027 standings after edging Persebaya Surabaya 1-0 in the ninth round at Jakarta International Stadium on Saturday (7/11/2026) night WIB. The win underlines Macan Kemayoran's consistency in this season's title race.
Persija's winning goal came only in the closing minutes through Croatian striker Ivan Mamut. Before that, both teams traded attacks, but poor finishing and a superb display from goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata kept the first half goalless. Persebaya had several golden chances through Ramadhan Sananta but repeatedly failed to beat Nadeo.
With the three points, Persija now have 21 points and move ahead of Dewa United, who have 20. Persebaya remain seventh with 13 points. The win is also valuable momentum for Persija ahead of a congested schedule.
In another match, Persita Tangerang suffered a bitter defeat, losing 0-1 to promoted side Isen Mulang FC at Banten International Stadium. Adilson Silva's 68th-minute goal made the difference. The loss was Persita's first in their last eight matches and ended their positive run. Despite dominating possession, Persita struggled to break down Isen Mulang's compact defense.
Meanwhile, Persijap Jepara sank deeper at the bottom of the standings after a 1-2 defeat to Garudayaksa FC at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium. After equalizing through Brazilian player China's goal in the 85th minute, Persijap had to concede all three points to the visitors through Brian Rubio's goal in injury time. The loss leaves Persijap with just two points from nine matches, while Garudayaksa climb to ninth with 11 points.
These results show how tight the competition is in the BRI Super League this season. Persija, back on top, must be wary of Dewa United and the teams below them. Meanwhile, Persebaya and Persita need to improve quickly if they do not want to fall further behind. The big question: can Persija maintain their consistency until the end of the season, or will there be a surprise from outsider teams like Isen Mulang and Garudayaksa, who have proven capable of beating established sides?
