Lepas Indonesia, a Chinese electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid brand, continues to expand its retail footprint in the country. On Friday (16/10), the company, together with its distribution partner Asco Automotive, inaugurated the Lepas Asco Puri Indah dealership in West Jakarta. It is Lepas's 11th outlet in Indonesia, following earlier dealerships in Jemursari, Surabaya, and Fatmawati, South Jakarta.
The dealership, located on Jl. Puri Indah Raya, Kembangan, sits on a 708.41 square meter plot with a 458.41 square meter building. Its facilities are designed to provide a distinct electric vehicle ownership experience, with a spacious display area, a VIP negotiation room, a customer lounge, and test drive units ready for prospective buyers.
In an official statement, President Director of Asco Automotive Group Alvina Atmadja emphasized that the partnership with Lepas is a long-term commitment. She said the dealership's top priority is to deliver the best service standards so that the entire vehicle ownership process is easy, transparent, and satisfying. "We focus our service on sales potential, so customers get a clear experience from the start," she said.
The two models currently available at the dealership are the L8 PHEV and the E4 EV. The L8 PHEV is priced at Rp589 million and is claimed to cover a combined range of up to 1,300 km, with a pure electric mode of up to 100 km. The car is equipped with advanced features such as Automatic Parking Assist, Remote Parking Assist, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Meanwhile, the E4 EV is sold at Rp349 million, producing 215 hp and 275 Nm of torque. Its Long Range variant is claimed to cover up to 600 km under the CLTC standard, with DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
Both models receive a competitive warranty package: a vehicle warranty of 6 years or 150,000 km, as well as a battery, motor, and controller warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km. Specifically for the L8, the first owner also receives an engine warranty of up to 10 years or 1,000,000 km, subject to terms and conditions. This package is one of the main draws for consumers still weighing the long-term ownership costs of electric vehicles.
"Located in the highly dynamic lifestyle center of West Jakarta, Lepas Asco Puri Indah serves as a mobility curation space to bring the value of 'Drive Your Elegance' to life. We are committed to delivering a high-value ownership experience close to a personal and characterful urban lifestyle," said Temmy Wiradjaja, Vice Country Director of Lepas Indonesia.
Lepas's expansion in Indonesia is notably aggressive. Previously, Lepas recorded 10 dealers after the opening of Lepas Asco Fatmawati in early October. At the time, Asco targeted six Lepas dealers by the end of this year, with Puri Indah on the list of planned locations. Overall, Lepas targets 40 dealers in Indonesia at least until the end of 2026. The move aligns with the Chinese brand's strategy to strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive domestic electric vehicle market.
The presence of a dealership in the Puri Indah area, known as one of the business and lifestyle centers in West Jakarta, is expected to reach upper-middle-class consumers seeking premium electric vehicles. With test drive facilities and comfortable consultation rooms, Lepas wants to ensure prospective buyers can experience driving firsthand before deciding on a purchase. This matters amid increasingly tight competition among global EV brands in Indonesia.
Looking ahead, the challenge for Lepas is to ensure an even after-sales network and after-sales service across Indonesia, especially outside Java. With a target of 40 dealers by 2026, the question is whether this expansion will be matched by adequate charging infrastructure and service readiness. For consumers, the choices are widening, but purchase decisions will still depend on service quality and long-term product reliability.
