Fundora, Figueroa, and Charlo Ready to Shine at 'The Fight' Las Vegas on October 17

Sebastian Fundora, Brandon Figueroa, and Jermall Charlo will appear in three separate bouts on October 17 at The Chelsea, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. All three warmed up their preparations in a virtual press conference on Thursday ahead of the fourth edition of the monthly boxing series “The Fight,” broadcast exclusively on TNT, truTV, and DAZN.

Fundora, holder of the WBC super welter world title belt, will face undefeated mandatory challenger Ermal Hadribeaj in the main event. Meanwhile, WBA featherweight world champion Brandon Figueroa is scheduled to take on former world champion Tomoki Kameda in the chief support bout. Jermall Charlo, a two-division champion, opens the night against Australian boxer Koen Mazoudier at super middleweight.

In the press conference, Fundora said he has trained hard in the mountains since his last fight. “I’m getting smarter and wiser. Everything is aligned. Charlo, who is moving up to super middle, declared his readiness. “I want to make a statement. If he makes a wrong move, I’ll send him back to Australia on his back,” he said. He feels he has an advantage, having fought twice at the Cosmo. “Las Vegas feels like home to me. I’ve never disappointed. I’m undefeated and I want a title in a third division.”

“Ronnie Shields isn’t just a trainer, he’s also a teacher and a father figure to me. He’s a legend and he taught me how to become a legend,” Charlo said.
