Supercell has once again expanded the brawler roster in Brawl Stars by introducing Cosmo, a marksman-type character who relies on long-range attacks. This brawler is scheduled for release on October 1, 2026, and can be unlocked for 1,900 Credits or 169 Gems. For players who do not want to spend money, Cosmo can also potentially be obtained from rare rewards such as Sushi Rolls, Presents, or Angelic/Demonic Drops.
Cosmo's uniqueness lies in the mechanics of his main attack, Orbit. He fires three planet orbs that orbit each other and travel forward; the farther they travel, the larger their size and the greater the damage they deal. This pattern forces players to maintain a safe position while continuing to pressure opponents from a distance. Meanwhile, his Super, Gravitational Pull, fires a magnet toward enemies. Although its direct damage is small, this Super creates a black hole around the target. While that area is active, Cosmo's and his teammates' attacks will automatically home in on enemies who enter the radius.
As of the publication of this news, Cosmo does not yet have a Hypercharge. His full stats as of September 2026 may still change, but his damage pattern is already clear: the farther the planets travel, the deadlier they become. The combination of long range and the homing effect from his Super makes him a valuable asset in team battles, especially for locking down opponents hiding behind bushes or trying to escape.
In terms of gadgets, Cosmo has two options: Planetary Pushback, which pushes enemies away from the target area, and Telescope Trap, which uses a telescope to reveal the surrounding area—including invisible enemies—while disabling opponents' movement abilities within it. For team modes, Telescope Trap is more recommended because it can expose enemy positions on bush-heavy maps and prevent them from escaping. Meanwhile, in solo modes, Planetary Pushback is useful for driving away assassins trying to close in.
The two available Star Powers are Precession, which speeds up the orbit speed of the main attack, and Ammo Attractor, which reloads ammo when the Super hits enemies. Precession does add speed, but since maximum damage is only reached at the farthest range, its benefit is less noticeable. Conversely, Ammo Attractor is considered more practical: after a few shots hit the target, the Super is ready to be released, and ammo is fully restored, making it hard for opponents to dodge.
"Ammo Attractor has so far been the best option. If you manage to hit enemies a few times, charge the Super, then release it, ammo will be almost fully restored and enemies cannot dodge," according to a guide from ClutchPoints.
For Gears, the Shield and Damage combination remains a favorite because it provides extra health and attack power that is useful in various situations. These Gears are not an exclusive choice, but rather a safe foundation for almost all brawlers, including Cosmo.
In terms of gameplay, Cosmo excels in modes such as Brawl Ball, Hot Zone, and Knockout. His main attack range allows him to pressure opponents from a safe distance, while his Super makes it easier for the team to finish off trapped targets. In Hot Zone, he can hold inside the zone while continuing to shoot, and his Super almost guarantees the elimination of enemies trying to contest the area. However, in Heist mode, Cosmo's slow reload speed makes his damage per second less competitive; his Super is also not strong enough to destroy the safe quickly. In Gem Grab, his main attack travels too slowly and he is not durable enough to be a gem carrier, although his range and Super can help in the final phase of the match.
For players in Indonesia, Cosmo's arrival adds variety to a meta that has long been dominated by short- and medium-range brawlers. His playstyle, which relies on positioning and team coordination, could be an interesting alternative, especially in the competitive community that frequently holds local tournaments. With his unique Super mechanic, Cosmo has the potential to change the way teams plan their strategies, particularly in controlling areas and locking down enemy movement.
The question is, will Supercell soon release a Hypercharge for Cosmo, and how will that change affect game balance? While waiting, players can start honing their skills with Orbit and Gravitational Pull to maximize the potential of this new brawler.
