In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reinhart explained that after being contracted to a popular teen series, she felt the need to step out of her comfort zone. "I did independent film and television after Riverdale, because when you do something very commercial for years, you want to grow as an actor," she said. The statement suggests that the decision was not merely about prestige, but an artistic necessity.
Even so, Reinhart did not deny the appeal of a project that already has a devoted fan base.
