Walmart has officially cut the price tag of the 75-inch Samsung M70HB TV from $648 to $548, a $100 discount that forms part of an end-of-quarter discount strategy. The move marks a new chapter in competition in the large-screen television segment, where manufacturers are racing to offer high specifications at increasingly aggressive prices.
The TV relies on Mini LED technology, which uses diodes far smaller than conventional LEDs to control lighting more precisely. The Supreme Mini LED Dimming feature is claimed to preserve detail in bright areas while maintaining the depth of black, so dark scenes do not look washed out. Samsung has also embedded a Mini LED 4K processor that analyzes each frame and adjusts contrast in real time. According to the manufacturer's claims, this processor can produce highlights three times brighter and blacks twice as deep as a standard 4K TV.
For sports fans, Samsung equips the M70HB with Motion Xcelerator that supports DLG 120Hz, keeping fast motion smooth when watching football matches or action sequences. There is also a dedicated football mode that adjusts brightness, contrast, and color so the pitch looks greener and player movement is easier to follow. Meanwhile, gamers can access Samsung Gaming Hub to play console games, cloud gaming, and gaming apps from a single interface.
On the color side, the Pure Spectrum Color feature allows the screen to display up to one billion shades, making skin tones, landscapes, and animated content look more natural. The Color Booster feature adds intensity to red, orange, blue, and green without complicated manual settings. This combination makes the TV an attractive entertainment hub for the living room, especially for those who often watch films, sports, and play games.
"At $548, the 75-inch Samsung M70HB TV offers outstanding picture quality, a large screen, and useful entertainment features," according to a review from GEEKSPIN, citing the same source.
This price cut is not merely a seasonal promotion. It is an indication that manufacturers are beginning to shift strategy from merely selling specifications toward broader market penetration. In the global market, Mini LED TVs are now competing fiercely with OLED, whose prices are also continuing to fall. Consumers in developing countries such as Indonesia may feel an indirect effect, whether through price adjustments for similar products or the availability of more affordable models.
For the Indonesian market, discounts at US retailers often serve as an early signal of price movements in Southeast Asia. Local distributors usually adjust stock and prices within a few months afterward, especially for mass-produced models. If this trend continues, Indonesian consumers can hope for large-screen TV options with Mini LED technology to become increasingly affordable, although tax and logistics cost factors will still influence the final price.
The question is, will this price cut trigger a price war among other major brands such as LG, TCL, and Hisense? If so, consumers will benefit, but manufacturer margins could come under pressure. In the long term, innovation remains key, and whoever can offer the best value will win the competition.
