For players aiming for the strongest collection in Aniimo, attention is surely focused on two Legendary creatures that cannot be captured in ordinary ways. In the initial release version, there are only two Aniimo that hold Legendary status, and each offers a unique challenge to obtain. Both are not just trophies, but combat assets that can change the dynamics of battle.
Somniwing, for example, is designed as a team supporter with the ability to restore EP — energy points required to launch attacks — to other party members. Its presence is crucial when the team is on the verge of defeat, as it can revive fallen allies. Additionally, Somniwing can temporarily incapacitate opponents with a sleep effect, providing a tactical advantage in critical moments.
To obtain Somniwing, players must complete 180 Elite Training objectives spread across five different tabs. This is the final reward in that training path, thus requiring consistency and a deep understanding of the game's mechanics. Although it may seem daunting, Elite Training is essentially designed to introduce the entire game system; if players diligently follow each challenge, the accumulation of objectives can be achieved faster than expected.
Meanwhile, Irisalis fills the role of a DPS-focused damage dealer. Its character relies on raw attack power to destroy opponents as quickly as possible, as expected from a Legendary Aniimo. The process of obtaining it is closely tied to the main storyline progression. While undertaking missions, players will collect Irisalis Petals from various open-world activities. Once enough are gathered, these petals can be transformed into a Legendary AniiPod, which then triggers the appearance of Irisalis to be confronted and captured.
Interestingly, the developers' decision to only introduce two Legendaries at launch can be seen as a strategy to maintain meta balance. With a limited number, each Legendary becomes a prestigious achievement that encourages players to explore all content. However, on the other hand, this also raises questions about how quickly new content will be added, given that communities typically quickly master routes to obtain rare items.
"The mechanism for obtaining Legendaries is intentionally made challenging so that players truly understand the game system, not just chase collections," said a developer in a separate interview, as quoted from community discussions.
For players in Indonesia, the presence of Aniimo with such a Legendary system has the potential to strengthen the local monster-taming game ecosystem, which has long been dominated by major titles. The gaming community in the country is known for being adaptive in creating guides and sharing tips, making it likely that content creators will emerge specifically discussing the fastest routes to obtain Somniwing or Irisalis. Furthermore, a monetization model that does not directly sell Legendaries could be a unique appeal in a market increasingly critical of pay-to-win practices.
Looking ahead, the biggest challenge for developers is to maintain the relevance of these two Legendaries as content is updated. Will there be new, stronger Legendaries, or perhaps nerfs to balance the meta? What is clear is that players who have invested time to obtain Somniwing and Irisalis hope their investment remains valuable. The question is, will Aniimo maintain the exclusivity of its Legendaries or open the door for more variety in the future?
