- Josh Widdicombe mengaku mengalami masalah pencernaan setelah syuting perdana Strictly Come Dancing pada 9 September.

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Josh Widdicombe has revealed he is struggling with digestive problems after filming the BBC dance show's launch. The 43-year-old said his physical condition dropped sharply after the taping on 9 September, when he, Emma Willis (50), and Johannes Radebe (39) hosted the new season's launch show for the first time.
On the latest episode of the Parenting Hell podcast he co-hosts with comedian Rob Beckett, Widdicombe described his symptoms in detail. "I'm not well. I don't want to be too graphic, but I'm having stomach trouble. I keep needing to urinate, I'm constipated, and I have abdominal pain," he said. He stressed the cause was not stress but exhaustion. "I'm not stressed, I'm tired. To be honest, we finished filming the Strictly launch show on Wednesday. Everything went smoothly. The next day, I don't think I've ever felt that tired, and I still haven't fully recovered," he added.
Widdicombe also highlighted his packed schedule, which worsened his condition. After filming, he had to perform in Dublin the next day, then return to the UK for a full weekend caring for his two children, Pearl (8) and Cassius (5). The combination of physical strain and domestic responsibilities, he said, was the main trigger for the health problems he experienced.
Strictly Come Dancing itself is entering a new chapter. In May, Widdicombe, Willis, and Radebe were announced as the presenting trio replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who stepped down in December. However, there is no "like-for-like" division of duties. Speaking on Richard Osman's The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Emma Willis explained, "There's no direct replacement, so no one is really taking anyone's position. Right now everything is still very open. We're doing a lot of production days, playing around, and getting to know each other—or rather, they're getting to know us."
"It's going to be like total football, Richard. We'll be moving everywhere," Widdicombe joked, likening the flexibility of their roles to a total football strategy.
This season also features an equally intriguing line-up of contestants. From EastEnders icon Lacey Turner, singer Delta Goodrem, former Love Island contestants Cach Mercer and Dani Dyer—who withdrew last year due to an ankle injury—to celebrity hairdresser Chris Appleton. There is also Big Brother host Will Best, Paralympic athlete Dame Sarah Storey, actress Jaime Winstone, former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips, and House of the Dragon star Bethany Antonia. Dog trainer Graeme Hall, Emmerdale actor Lawrence Robb, Olympic skeleton gold medallist Tabby Stoecker, YouTuber John Nellis, and Gavin and Stacey actress Melanie Walters complete the list.
For Indonesia's entertainment industry, the dynamics of Strictly Come Dancing—especially the host changes and production pressures—can serve as a mirror for how local competition shows like Indonesian Idol or MasterChef Indonesia manage presenter transitions. The mental and physical health of those appearing on screen is often overlooked behind the demands of ratings and tight schedules. Although Widdicombe stressed it was not stress, extreme exhaustion that leads to physical problems remains an important signal for industry players to pay attention to the welfare of production teams.
With the live competition schedule only starting on 26 September and the first elimination on 4 October, the question now is: will Widdicombe be able to stay in top condition throughout the season, or will this serve as a warning to the BBC about the importance of workload management behind the sparkle of the dance stage?
