Ahead of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, Indonesian National Team players from rival clubs, Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung, are demonstrating unity by issuing a joint call to supporters. In a recently released video, six Persija players—Jordi Amat, Rizky Ridho, Dony Tri Pamungkas, Rayhan Hannan, Shayne Pattynama, and Nadeo Argawinata—alongside two Persib players, Ragnar Oratmangoen and Haye, invited fans to attend the matches live at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.
The video showed a relaxed yet enthusiastic atmosphere. Sitting on a sofa, the players introduced themselves one by one. Rizky Ridho then became the spokesperson, calling for full support for the national team. "To all Garuda fans, don't forget to support and come directly to the stadium for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. Hopefully, we can succeed together and lift the trophy together. See you there," Ridho said in the video.
Not to be outdone, Ragnar and Haye, sitting on a separate sofa, conveyed a similar message. Haye emphasized that they are taking a break from the Super League competition to focus on defending their country. "We are on a break from the Super League, focusing on the FIFA ASEAN Cup. Come and support all of us at SUGBK," he stated.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 marks a significant moment for Indonesian football. As hosts of Group A, Division 1, Indonesia will face Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh. All group matches will be held at SUGBK, known for its extraordinary atmosphere when filled with passionate supporters. The direct presence of spectators is believed to be the "12th man" factor that can boost player performance.
The unity among players from major clubs like Persija and Persib sends a positive signal that domestic rivalry does not affect solidarity within the national team. This aligns with PSSI's efforts to build a supporter culture that backs the national team without club divisions. Support from the stands also has the potential to increase revenue from tickets and merchandise, as well as strengthen Indonesia's image as a worthy host in Southeast Asian football.

With an increasingly mature squad composition and intensive preparations, hopes for winning the championship title are soaring. However, challenges from Malaysia and Singapore, who also possess quality squads, cannot be underestimated. Full support from fans in every match will be the differentiator. Will SUGBK roar once again and lead the Garuda to the top? Time will tell, but one thing is certain: the players' call has united their determination to fight together.
