Hari Bhakti Postel 2026: Blood Donation, E-Sports, and Telecommunications Regulation Diplomacy

Jakarta — The commemoration of the 81st Hari Bhakti Postel in 2026 is not merely an annual ceremony. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), together with the Association of Indonesian Telecommunications Providers (ATSI) and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) community, has designed a series of activities that touch three realms at once: social, technological, and regeneration.

One of the standout agendas is a blood donation drive held at Telkomsel Smart Office, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/9). The event targets at least 300 donors, with the main goal of strengthening blood reserves in DKI Jakarta. For the telecommunications industry, this is a concrete way to show their presence in the community, not just as network providers.

The Chairman of Aspimtel and Chair of Hari Bhakti Postel ke-81, Theodorus Ardi Hartoko, explained that the series of events had begun in August through the DTI-CX conference. The forum brought together the global ICT community, domestic and Southeast Asian industry players, and technology partners from various countries. According to Theodorus, the event was not just a technology exhibition, but also a means of conveying input to regulators on the governance of the national telecommunications industry.

"We are not only holding physical activities, but also providing input to regulators regarding the governance of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia," Theodorus said in his statement.

On the agenda side, the Secretary General of the Association of Telecommunications Infrastructure and Tower Developers (Aspimtel), Indra Gunawan, added that this year's commemoration also features a Mobile Legends e-sports tournament. This step was taken to embrace the younger generation familiar with the gaming world. "We want Hari Bhakti Postel to not only target established circles, but also young people who love e-sports," Indra said.

For Indonesia, this commemoration reflects a shift in the role of the telecommunications industry. If operators previously focused more on infrastructure and services, they are now beginning to take on roles in social issues and digital talent development. Blood donation and e-sports may look like complementary activities, but both imply a long-term strategy: building closeness with the community while preparing the next generation in the technology sector.

On the other hand, the DTI-CX conference marks that dialogue between industry players and policymakers is becoming more intense. Input on regulation, new technology policy, and industry governance is an important part of this commemoration.
