The controversial reality show Dating Naked UK has been confirmed to return for a third season. After months of rumors suggesting it would be canceled, host Rylan Clark is reported to have flown to Tenerife, Spain, this week to begin production. The news was first reported by The Sun, citing an internal production source.

Airing on Paramount+, the show has an unusual format: a group of singles are sent to a luxury villa and go on a series of dates completely naked. Since its first and second seasons aired, it has often sparked public discussion for being seen as pushing beyond the norms of typical dating shows. Speculation about the show's fate emerged after some argued that ratings and audience response were not as strong as hoped.

However, a source told The Sun that this was not the case. "There was a feeling that this season was struggling, but filming starts this week and it already looks very promising," the source said. According to the source, Rylan really enjoys his role as host because the show does not rely solely on romantic drama but also brings out raw emotions from its participants. "Something about dating naked triggers honest emotional reactions. This isn't an ordinary dating show," the source added.

Rylan, also known as a former contestant on The X Factor in 2012 and a BBC Radio 2 broadcaster, had previously said the show's appeal lies in its social experiment aspect. In an interview with Grazia in August 2024, he said, "The things that happen in this series can only happen because they are all naked. It's a social experiment as well as a dating show. We don't know what will happen when we put a group of naked people in a house to date. There could be a sex party on day one!"

He also observed that the contestants quickly became comfortable with their nudity. "Something happens, and I think the fact that they are all naked and different makes them feel confident within the group. They become very comfortable with one another because they are all in the same boat," he said. Even so, Rylan admitted he would not want to be a contestant. However, in an interview with Bella Magazine in August 2025, he said he would be willing to host naked. "If they wanted me to host naked... I have suggested it, but they refused!" he said, laughing.

The decision to renew Dating Naked UK shows that controversy can be a profitable commodity in the reality TV industry. The bold format often sparks ethical debate, but it also attracts viewers looking for something different. In the global market, such shows face varying regulatory and censorship challenges.
