Pokémon fans who feel unsatisfied with only eight official Eeveelutions now have an interesting alternative. A fan game titled Pokémon Oops! All Eevees offers 326 Eeveelution variations, completely transforming the base of Pokémon FireRed into a paradise for Eevee fans.
The creator known as 999999999 designed this game to do more than just replace every monster with an Eeveelution. He also created original designs such as Fanteon (Ghost type), Aeraerieon (Flying type), and Aercampeon (Fighting type), complete with their own evolution paths. Some of them even combine existing types, something Game Freak has never done officially.
The game also pampers players with expanded movesets for all existing Eeveelutions, as well as abundant Rare Candy so players can skip the grinding process. There is also a new endgame that is claimed to test players' knowledge of Eevee. Not only that, players can wear trainer outfits resembling Eeveelutions and even evolve themselves.
"Of course there is no secret Eevee anywhere, like under the Truck or in Cerulean Cave," the developer wrote on social media, teasing players.
In another post, the developer claimed the game introduces an "Eevee god" that has all elemental types at once, and that is not the final boss. These hints have sparked further speculation and exploration among fans.
So far, the community response has been very positive. One player called Oops! All Eevees "everything I wanted." Fan art themed around the game has also begun to appear. The game can be downloaded through the PokéCommunity forum.
This phenomenon highlights the gap between fan demand and official supply. It has been 13 years since Game Freak introduced a new Eeveelution in Pokémon X and Y. With 18 standard types, not even half have been realized as Eeveelutions. The anticipated Pokémon Winds and Waves may introduce a new Eevee, but its release date remains unclear.
In Indonesia, the Pokémon fan base is quite large, especially in retro communities and among fans of modified games. The presence of fan games like this can be an alternative form of entertainment amid the scarcity of official releases. However, it is worth remembering that fan games based on someone else's intellectual property are vulnerable to legal issues, although Nintendo has not shown any firm action against this project.
Looking ahead, will Game Freak respond by speeding up the production of official Eeveelutions? Or will the community continue to fill this void? What is clear is that Oops! All Eevees proves that fan creativity cannot be contained.
