Soon after her arrival, supernatural forces awaken: the groundskeeper accidentally wakes an evil creature that threatens the entire town. Barnabas Collins (Ben Cross), a 200-year-old vampire, introduces himself as a distant cousin from England and begins preying on the locals. He also becomes obsessed with Victoria, who feels both fascinated and horrified.
The main appeal of this revival lies in its cast. Ben Cross, who had previously starred in Chariots of Fire, delivers a Barnabas who is romantic yet cruel, far more frightening than the TV vampires of the 90s.
