Anton Faces Rojas on ProBoxTV: Southpaw Giants Clash for WBC Continental Americas Belt

Kevin Anton, a WBC No. 16-ranked fighter from Guatemala and the United States, will defend his WBC Continental Americas junior middleweight title against Freudis “Freddy” Rojas in a 10-round main event at Rawhide Western Town & Event Center in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, October 16, broadcast live by ProBoxTV starting at 8 p.m. ET.

The bout was originally set to pit Anton against Yan Marcos, but an injury in training forced Marcos to withdraw. Rojas, who holds a 15-1 record (11 KOs), now steps in as the replacement challenger. Anton is unbeaten at 14-0 (12 KOs) and is known as a 190 cm southpaw, while Rojas is also a southpaw at 188 cm. The clash of two tall left-handers promises an intriguing tactical battle.

For Rojas, this is a golden opportunity to bounce back after a 10-round decision loss to Damian Sosa in April. In that fight, Rojas, competing for only the second time in two years, looked fatigued and could not keep up with Sosa's pressure, even going down in the sixth round. Anton, who is also a barber, is immensely proud of his Guatemalan heritage. He often enters the ring waving the Guatemalan flag and calls himself “Americo-Chapin.” In 2026, the Congress of Guatemala awarded him the Condecoración Soberano Congreso Nacional for bringing honor to the country. Anton's boxing style, with his long reach and heavy hands, is reminiscent of WBC 154-pound champion Sebastian Fundora.

Below the main event, the co-main features Justin Pauldo (20-2, 10 KOs), ranked No. 5 by the WBC, against Rene Tellez Giron (23-5, 14 KOs), ranked No. 11 by the WBO, in a 10-round lightweight bout. Pauldo, known for his speed and power, will look to hold his position among the top contenders, while the experienced Giron will be a stern test.
