LISA Releases Solo EP 'PRESS PLAY' and Documentary 'Always Lalisa', Reaffirms Commitment to BLACKPINK

Thai singer LISA, who rose to fame with BLACKPINK, will release her solo extended play (EP) titled PRESS PLAY on October 23. In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she called the EP a cinematic project that blends various elements of Thai culture with a global musical touch.
“This EP tells the story of my journey from my cultural roots to where I am now,” LISA said, as quoted on the show. “There are many Thai elements in the songs on this EP. Each song has its own character and mood, and we combined them into one whole. It feels like watching a film. You just press play.”
So far, fans have been introduced to the opening track titled SaWaDiKa, which means “Hello” in Thai. The song marks LISA's return to her cultural identity after massive success with BLACKPINK and her acting debut in the third season of The White Lotus.
Although her solo career continues to flourish, LISA emphasized that she will not leave BLACKPINK. In an interview with Variety, she said, “If I am 50 years old, I still want to perform with BLACKPINK. We just finished a tour earlier this year, but we often talk and discuss the possibility of taking a short break—like I did almost two years ago—but we will always be together.”
In addition to the EP, LISA will also release a documentary titled Always Lalisa. The film features interviews with those closest to her and reveals the star's vulnerable side. “I felt it was time. I am more confident now, so I want to share my story with fans who have big dreams like I do. I hope this can inspire them,” she said.
