October 2026 is one of the busiest months for the global phone market. A number of major brands have scheduled launches from the mid-range to flagship class, with Huawei and Vivo opening the month through the Huawei Mate 90 Series in China and the Vivo X Fold 6 in the international market on October 1. For Indonesian consumers, this wave is not merely a release list, but a marker of shifting price tiers and technology that will shape purchasing choices through the end of the year.
Poco opens the domestic chapter earlier. The China-based vendor has confirmed that the Poco F9 Series will launch in Indonesia on October 5, consisting of the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra. The Poco F9 Ultra relies on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while the F9 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Both carry a 200MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 32MP front camera.
In the mid-range segment, the Vivo V80 is scheduled to arrive in India on October 6. The phone packs a 6.59-inch OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700V main camera developed in collaboration with Zeiss, a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto, and a 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging. If it follows the pattern of the Vivo V70, which had a gap of about 18 days between its India and Indonesia launches, the V80 could enter the country in late October or early November.
Oppo is preparing two fronts at once. The Oppo A7 Pro Series 5G has been teased for the Indonesian market, carrying a 10,000mAh battery that is claimed to keep battery health above 80 percent after 2,000 full charging cycles, equivalent to about six years of use. Meanwhile, the Oppo Find X10 Series is expected to launch globally on October 28 with a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto developed with Hasselblad, Dimensity 9600M and 9600 Pro chipsets, a 144Hz LTPO AMOLED screen, and an 8,000mAh battery. Last year's pattern showed the Find X9 Series arriving in Indonesia about eight days after its Barcelona launch.
"Oppo announces the presence of the Oppo A7 Pro Series 5G in Indonesia, the latest generation of the A Series that brings the durability concept to the next level," Oppo wrote in its official statement, Wednesday (30/9).
The Huawei Mate 90 Series, officially introduced in China on October 1, offers four variants: Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, and Mate 90 RS. The Pro Max and RS variants come with an additional Huawei Ruijing Z10 Module Camera lens with a 1-inch sensor and 10x continuous optical zoom, with a focal length range of 24-240mm. Its engine uses HarmonyOS 7 with Kirin 9030, 9035, and 9050 chipsets. Although there is no confirmation for Indonesia, the Mate 80 Series launch in April 2026 after a five-year absence shows Huawei is starting to reopen the tap to the domestic market.
The Vivo X Fold 6, expanded to the global market on October 1, brings an 8.02-inch foldable AMOLED screen and a 6.51-inch cover screen, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 6,900mAh battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. The phone is powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, and OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. Vivo has not announced pricing or per-country availability.
The Nubia RedMagic 12 Pro+ is scheduled to launch in China on October 15 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and a 0.96mm screen bezel, retaining an under-display front camera. In the previous generation, Nubia only brought the RedMagic 11 Pro to Indonesia without the Pro+ variant. Apple is also expected to bring the iPhone 18 Pro Series and iPhone Duo to Indonesia this month, although there is no official confirmation yet.
For the Indonesian market, October 2026 is a test of purchasing power in the upper-mid segment. The simultaneous presence of the Poco F9 Series and Oppo A7 Pro Series gives consumers two poles: flagship performance at a competitive price, or extreme battery endurance for long-term use. The question is whether vendors will hold prices given rupiah fluctuations, or instead use this momentum to grab market share ahead of the end of the year?
